1st job:

I get a call in regards to a bosch dishwasher not cleaning properly……….. Anyways I boot the dishwasher into diagnostic mode……..I let it run through multiple tests the dishwasher is in proper working order.

I then check the error codes for the last 5 cycles, I see an off an on pattern of no faults detecting and an error code of E5, error code E5 on this particular model indicates that the circulation motor is not operating at its full speed.

Pretty much the circulation motor is weak and would need to be replaced. The circulation motor alone is roughly 300 dollars, with labor it is well over 500 to repair, the customer told me she will get back to me.

2nd job:

This job is in regards to three appliances, a dishwasher, a stove, and a refrigerator. Pretty much this is a brand new renovation and all three of these appliances have just been installed and none of them are working as intended…..

The dishwasher won’t circulate water, the stove is tripping the breaker, and the refrigerator water/ice dispenser is not working.

So I run my diagnostics….. I start with the dishwasher, I turn it on and run it…… The dishwasher will fill with water but the motor is not circulating and is making an awful noise, the dishwasher will also drain the water upon command….. The circulation motor is defective in this model, this particular dishwasher is a frigidaire which is very inexpensive to buy and repair, a circulation motor on this is 80 dollars, most times they run for 200+ dollars….

Next I check the fridge, I pull out the fridge to check the water line for proper installation and leaks and I hit the dispenser button, no water leaks…. I open the fridge and water is everywhere, it is coming from the water filter area, so I pull out the water filter and it is completely cracked….. In order for the water system to work properly the filter has to been installed correctly and not broken.

I check the stove last, I check for correct voltage from the outlet at 240 volts, which is within specification and I turn on the baker, and all the igniters…… Everything runs and nothing is tripped except I notice one of the burner units is lopsided which is a fire hazard, so I open up the stove top and rearrange it…

Case closed on this one, the original renovator is going to have the contractors who did the work come back and fix what they did wrong.

3rd job:

This job I got in regards to a Miele dishwasher not always operating, anyways I go to the customers home take it apart to inspect the board and test for voltage…

I notice that the wires that connect the board to the components of the dishwasher are starting to corrode. I inform the customer and tell him it is best to call Miele since they are the only one who carries parts for their brand and make tech info scarce to technicians outside of their network….

I collect my diagnostic fee and move on….

4th job:

This is a follow up job from last week, I replace the flame igniter and the thermal fuse on this dryer. The problem was that it was not heating, my diagnostic concluded it was the igniter and thermal fuse….

Anyways this was a pretty straight forward job, however in order to do it I had to disassemble the entire thing, which is easy for me at this point.

I do the job and collect my fee then I am off home….
