6/10/2021 workday
1st job:
I received a call in regards to a subzero refrigerator leaking inside the refrigerator. This subzero model had two separate evaporator coils, one for the freezer and one for the fridge. A leak coming from the evaporator coil in most cases is a clogged defrost drain line……
Anyways this would have been an easy fix however this was a built in model, built in very tight, I did not see how I would be able to move it without an airsled, the only reason this was an issue is because the door could not open all the way for me to disassemble the draws to expose the coil, it was blocked by the top of the entrance to the room where the dining table was…
I had to walk away because without removing the fridge I couldn’t reach the evaporator coil….
Here is a picture of the fridge, look at the top left corner, that is the only thing that stopped me from this easy job, this is how it is sometimes in appliance repair, particularly with high end models because they are installed with aesthetic in mind first before all else……….
2nd job:
This was a call in regards to an LG refrigerator not cooling which is typical because they use a Linear inverter compressor, which is notorious for having issues.
Anyways I disassemble the refrigerator to expose the evaporator coil, and lo and behold it is a sealed system issue most likely stemming from the Liner inverter compressor which is very common in these models.
As you can see these coils are completely bare. Case closed.
3rd job:
This customer simply dropped coins down the lint trap in his dryer, I had to disassemble to remove so his dryer wouldn’t stop making noise…
4th job:
This was a return call in regards to a samsung refrigerator I diagnosed a previous day which was having defrost issues…
I returned this time to replace the defrost heater and the thermistor….
This is a samsung refrigerator with twin cooling (two evaporator coils), I was changing the defrost heater inside the fresh food compartment….
In order to disassemble you need to first remove all the shelves inside the fresh food compartments as well has the drawers…….
After that you remove the evaporator cover to do the repairs.
