5/26/21 workday

1st job:

Had a call in regards to an LG Dishwasher not draining correctly, I go to the house I try to put it in diagnostic mode, however that isn’t working, so then I test for ohms on the control board on the wires that lead to the drain pump, it is within specification at 4.5 ohms. The drain pump wasn’t clogged so it could be a mechanical failure, that or the board is fried.

I informed the customer and also told him that to change the drain pump on his particular model was relatively easy and 20-30 minutes of his time could take care if it as it was at the front of the dishwasher, he could just kneel down and reach and turn it clockwise to remove.

I told him if he wasn’t up to the task I will do it and I quoted him my rate. I told him if he installs it himself and the machine doesn’t work it is definitely a board issue, at that point he could reach back out to me or opt to buy another one, I gave him pricing in regards to swapping the board as well as the pricing on a brand new dishwasher…

2nd job:

This job was a return call, this time I had to check their dryer for not spinning again, and this time I had to check out their dishwasher which is a unique drawer type of dishwasher (2 drawers like a clothes dryer but instead you put dishes inside)

The complaint with the dishwasher is that it cuts off mid cycle, it was completely operational when I first entered however, the board stopped responding to my input midway through my visit, I tried to run diagnostic mode for error codes and none came up

I tried to test for voltages at the board but the machine wouldn’t start up, This appears to be a board issue, so I quoted the customer for the replacement, and went on to the dryer.

This time I did not disassemble the dryer because I have done so twice already, it won’t spin but nothing inside is broken….. This usually happens with bad motor windings, I quoted them for the motor and went about my day.

3rd job:

I had a call in regards to an O-Verona Oven, it would not close and the bottom as loose and the door was hanging off, the screws on the bottom fell out, and the door appeared not to be closing due to the hinges…

O verona is an exclusive brand, you cannot buy parts locally or from any other vendor other than the company itself, product support is poor so I passed on this altogether.
