5/20/21 workday

1st job:

I had a recall on a dryer from a few days ago, the dryer stopped spinning, I had to disassemble a second time and tighten the motor pulley and blower wheel.

Hopefully there are no more issues with the dryer as each time I have to go back means more money lost.

2nd job:

I had a call in regards to a gas smell for a GE oven, this customer hadn’t used her oven in a long time and was concerned about the smell she smelt when turning it on.

When a smell is coming from a oven it can be a leak from the gas line, the gas regulator could be defective, or the igniters could not be drawing enough amps.

First thing I did was check amps to both the broiler and baker, both are within factor specification of 3.3 – 3.5 amps

Anything less would cause the broiler or the baker to stall and as a result of the gas smell lingering as a result of not lighting fast enough.

The regulator had no leaks and correct voltage of 120 volts. I checked for leaks at the line there were none. In this case the smell was simply because the oven hadn’t been used, grease and fat and residue from food can sit and if not used regularly will cause a smell when ignited after months of inactivity. I told her to do a self clean cycle and that should take care of the issue.

3rd Job:

I had a return job in which I had to install a new water valve, on a frigidaire side by side. Pretty simple job, the issue it was having was that no ice cubes were forming and the water was coming out slow.
