1st job:

My first job today was  DCS 30″ commercial oven, the customer had told me that the oven would not ignite, the burner or the broiler.

This job took me roughly 3 hours due to my lack of familiarity with this particular oven, I managed to find a service manual through one of my tech resources however it is the first time I had to change an ignitor on an oven like this, the disassembly was not intuitive for me on this machine due to the dissimilarity from other ovens that I regularly work on such as (Whirlpool, Samsung, Lg, GE).

These are pictures of the beginning of the disassembly as I had removed the front door and was beginning to take apart the racks from inside…..

I forgot to take the pictures of the gas tube and the functioning burner itself after I replaced it, as I was too wrapped up in trying to figure out how to take it apart correctly…..

I ended up struggling to take the door off for about 30 minutes, and another 30 minutes to put it back on as I did not know the proper procedure….

So I did end up fixing the burner, but the customer told me the broiler went out several months ago, what stopped me from fixing the burner is that I ran out of the allotted time for this repair (I was there 11-2:00 PM, my next appointment was 2-4). It may have been a quick repair however the screws to remove the components to access the broiler were rusted…

If you have ever dealt with rusted screws before they can be a pain to remove, and wd-40 did not do the job this time, I have to return monday to fix the broiler, and I have to take a look at their washing machine as well as the cold water valve is not functioning correctly.

All in all this job was a learning experience and I have better technical capabilities because of it.
